Camden Blackburn
My roots
Hi,
My name is Camden. Growing up in Seattle, Washington, I tackled a wide variety of hobbies and interests, but the one genre they all fell into was that of creativity. Whether I’m playing guitar, drawing, or creating a logo, all of my hobbies align with one truth: my passion for creating.
After living in Seattle for most of my life and getting tired of the rain, I moved to Arizona to take on college at ASU, move away from home, and begin my life as an adult. Throughout this ongoing exploration, I continued my pursuit of creativity and found things like photography, car culture, and a short-lived motorcycle endeavor.
I traveled to Italy with my family during Christmas of 2023, and there I discovered something I wasn’t just good at but something I loved, photography. Ever since this trip, I take every opportunity that arises to pick up the camera and start shooting. One day, I decided to apply for an award at the International Photography Awards and was shortlisted, something I didn’t expect but am proud of nonetheless.
me today
When I’m not designing, playing guitar, or engaging in a creative activity, I enjoy spending my time on other things that bring me happiness. You can find me playing games online with friends, going to local car events, or at the gym. Regardless of what I decide to do, my cat and number one companion, Gogo, is always right by me, eager to find ways to interrupt.
When I think about what I love or what I’m good at, it’s hard to name just one thing. I love photography, cars, socializing, working out, drawing, music, design, and any other outlet that lets me solve problems creatively and expressively. I’m all about identity and representation, and if there is one thing I have to say I’m good at, it’s understanding people. Something is fulfilling about working with and talking to people that I can quickly come to understand, learning about their passions, motivations, dreams, and ideals. I think it’s a superpower when it comes to any design.
The future
Im not entirely sure what ill be doing 10 years from now, as a lot of college students arent. But I think if I’m doing anything that lets me create and help people, I’ll be happy. Wherever my path leads, I know that the world will have likely changed dramatically with the evolution of AI and its implications on the industry.
Ever since the rise of AI and the rapid growth it’s taken in recent years, I’ve naturally become increasingly interested in its technology and applications. My mom, who works at Google primarily in the AI portion, further incentivized this interest. Now I find myself using different AI tools daily, implementing their capabilities in work, school, projects, and businesses. Through AI, I started a business called Desert Writes, a marketing tool that lets realtors gain easy and cheap access to high-quality, human-edited content for their marketing campaigns and listings. The growth of AI is far from over, and I’m excited to not only see where it goes but also innovate with it every step of the way.
